Stuffed Pizza Crust Recipe
2 cups all purpose flour
2 tbsp sugar
2 tsp active dry yeast
1 tsp salt
1 cup (8 ounces) water
2 string cheese ( 1 ounce each)
Step #1:
Place pizza stone on middle shelf of your oven and preheat to 400 degrees F. Combine recipe's dry ingredients in a mixing bowl.
Step#2:
Warm water in the microwave for about 20 to 30 seconds, until it is warm. Be careful, and don't let it get too hot (steaming), because it will destroy the yeast in your dough recipe. Stir warm water into dry ingredients with a spoon.
Step #3:
Cover the mixing bowl with a towel and put it somewhere will it can stay warm. You can wrap the bowl inside a bigger towel to help insulate it and retain the warmth. The pizza dough will double inside and should be done in about 20 to 25 minutes. While you are waiting for the dough to rise, you can slice the string cheese lengthwise into three slices per piece.
Step #4:
After the dough has doubled in size, you can roll it out on a clean area, like your countertop. Be sure to use some extra flour on the countertop to prevent the dough from sticking. Next, arrange the sliced string cheese around the perimiter of the pizza crust and then fold the crust over the top of the cheese. Place the pizza on a pizza peel. Top your stuffed crust pizza with sauce and toppings. Transfer to the hot pizza stone and bake for about 14 minutes. The crust will be brown when it is ready.
